THE CONJUNCTION - joins together sentences and sometimes words.

Example- He reads magazines, but he doesn't like to read books.

- Two and two make four.

  • Conjunctions must be carefully distinguished from Relative Pronouns, Relative Adverbs, and Prepositions, which are also connecting words.
  • - This is the house that Neha built.( Relative Pronoun)
  • Here Relative pronoun that refers to the noun house and also joins two parts of the sentence.
Therefore  Relative pronoun, Relative Adverbs and Prepositions refer or modifies noun or verb respectively and also join the two parts of the sentence. But Conjunction merely joins the two sentence or two words.

2. Neither- or

3. Both- and

4. Through- yet

5. Not only- but also
