Similar to past perfect simple except the first past action is in continuous.

Form- subject+ had been + verb(-ing)

First continuous past action 

Example-I felt really tired because I had been working all day.

Means at some.point in the past I felt tired because I had been working all day.

Another example- 

She had been waiting for two hours when her turn for interview finally arrived.

Here first action is - she had been waiting..

And second action is her turn for interview arrived.
