1.It is incorrect to use apostrophe with 's' in the case of  non-living things.

2. In case of compound noun , apostrophe with 's' should be added only with last word.
- Father-in-law's behaviour 

3. Pronouns are written by omitting apostrophe but 's' is added. 
- Yours truly
- Hers
- It's (It is) 
- Its design 

4. After plural nouns or words ending with 's' , possessive case is shown by apostrophe without 's' .
